Dubrovnik Course 1998

Chris Guilds wrote down his impressions about the Dubrovnik course 1998 in a poem:
Ode to Dubrovnik (24-04-1998)

Exclusive positions purify consciousness
commonly held inclusively
We went to the show
but they were there excluding
Sprouting palms pervade the view
White-stoned pavements
Red-roofed horizons
Azure swells into depths
Mountains looming sharply above
shelter as well as the platform for attack
Splashes where the center is patched
Cats muster inside a fence
Dogs running freely
Main street with shiny, slippery stones
Rock battered unforgivingly, their whiteness
appears green beneath azure
Congregations flowing slowly
Styled fashionably for attractiveness
Cleaned beach forces recognition
Hidden bays offer protection
Peninsulas demand extra exertion
Erased from a collective memory
Must they come again?
Peace-loving people abound
Death notices flutter lively
Walls separate, but rockets permeate
Scars remain apparent
Resiliency activates
Too little contemplation
Simply a desire to forget and continue
Buried hatchets rise to the surface
Keys broken, locks picked
Press the button for service
Confused, the trees stand above
Indifferent, the inhabitants coffee continuously
A dream come true
Visiting the town of fantasy
