Challenges of a new Europe

Dubrovnik is work of human inspiration. It is mystery of the aesthetic and the material, coalesced in harmony and form. Dubrovnik is light, white walls, chiming bells and sea gulls that slowly flap their wings. Centuries of insight and accord, a simple, charming urban entity, whose integral spirit and concordance are worthy of our deepest admiration. The city at the foot of hill Srd is a highlight of the Adriatic and the whole Croatia. The Croatian National flag is red-white-blue tricolour, with the coat of arms (13 red squares and 12 silver squares arranged intermittently in a 5 times 5 pattern). This coat of arms was affirmed by 15th century documents. It is a very old symbol of Croatia resembling a red-white chess table. Now it also has a crown composed of five regional symbols representing:

1. The oldest known Croatian coat of arms
2. Dubrovnik
3. Dalmatia
4. Istria
5. Slavonia.

Extremely rich and valuable cultural and historical heritage is pointing to al millennium old presence of Croatia in the area. Dubrovnik is a beautiful and exciting city. In fact, it may be my second favoured city in Europe (right after Amsterdam) As an exchange student of Free University of Amsterdam from Rep. Of Georgia, in april 20-29 2002 I attended the Training-Seminar about Inclusion and Exclusion in Contemporary European Societies at the Inter-University Centre Dubrovnik (Croatia). I observe such conferences and Seminars as the greatest opportunity for young people to receive excellent education. It was great honour and chance for me to take part in, as far I respect country its history and culture very much. I strongly believe that young people have to think about the better future of their countries as well as the world in general.

But future will go to those who are best prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
After Croatia, I noticed that I have new good friends. We meet, talf and very often discuss about the different presentations presented during the Conference. I believe that the young Generation needs to participate in such activities as often as possible. Experience that is moslty important for everyone who is thingking about bright future of his or her country and the world in General.

Sincerely yours, Dimitri Dolaberidze
